I'm in the market for a rug - make that two rugs. One for our living room and another for our sunroom. For our living room I've narrowed it down to these options:
wool and jute rug from Pottery Barn
wool shag rug from Overstock
Pottery Barn "Quinn" rug
Flokati rug from Overstock
Pottery Barn "Plaited Wool" rug

The hubby and I both love the Quinn best as well. I was wondering if we could get away with a less expensive option, but it seems the splurge might be worth it on this one. Thanks for the votes, they've helped!
Looks like everyone is going with the Quinn! That is what my vote is for as well! :0) BUT, I will say this. If you two plan to have kids or pets then I would go with kid/pet friendly stuff. Nothing is worse then splurging on something only to have it pooped, peed, puked, or spilled on. As much as I try to restrain Rowan (my son) to the kitchen, sometimes he somehow ends up with food and dirty fingers in the living room! My dog is house trained, and there have been no accidents.....yet. I LOVE white, but I definitely think long and hard about it before bringing it into my house because kids and pets have accidents- so weigh your options!
You make a valuable point. I've been concerned about how long a white rug will last in the first room you enter in our home. My sister-in-law had the Quinn in ivory, and eventually had to throw it away after a couple years of cleaning up after the kids and dog. Hmm...
Oh, my son is a disaster on the kitchen floor (we don't have family room)...but no problem on the living room, basement, or his bedroom rug...
ps..I am DYING for a striped rug right now...like the one in the Parisian loft on Marion House book ...PB has a mat I REALLY REALLY want, but can't get in CAnada
